Welcome

Welcome to St. Michael Lutheran school. Thank you for your interest in our school and Christ for Kids Childcare Center. We are proud of our Childcare, Preschool and K- 6 School program.

Introduction

We have gained a reputation for our high academic standards, strong Christian-focus, affordability, and willingness to accept students from a variety of backgrounds. In fact, part of our mission is to welcome all members of the broader community, and nearly 70% of our current students are not members of St. Michael Lutheran Church. It is also important to note that you do not need to be of the Lutheran faith to attend our programs; we welcome all.

Our school curriculum offerings exceed those of surrounding elementary schools, and have resulted in our students scoring at the 97th - 99th percentile on national tests. (For more information look at the Academics section of this web site. ) Yet these programs are available at a tuition rate much lower than many other area schools.

If you live within the Portage Public School District, free bussing for school-aged children as well as limited special education services is available. A hot lunch program is offered to all students as well as scholarship assistance to those who qualify.
