My
husband, Tom, and I moved to Portage, Michigan, in the summer of
2008 to be closer to grandchildren. I began teaching first
grade at St. Michael in 2008, after more than 20 years in
Lutheran schools. We moved from Galena, Illinois, where I
served Dubuque Lutheran School as administrator and full time
teacher. It was a thrill to be used by God to create that new
Lutheran School in Dubuque, Iowa. Previous to that, we lived in
the Chicago suburbs and I taught for Concord Lutheran School in
Addison and Bensenville, Illinois. Now that we are living in
Portage, we enjoy seeing four of our eight grandchildren. The
others live near Chicago and we visit often. Watching and
guiding children in their growth has always been my life’s
desire. I am blessed to be able to be on the staff of this
Lutheran School where Christ is truly the center of the
educational program.
