I
grew up in New York State in the Hudson River Valley north of
New York City. I started my college education at the U.S. Coast
Guard Academy in New London, CT. After two years, I left the
academy and continued my education at the University of
Massachusetts where I earned a degree in Computer Science. I
worked in the corporate world at EDS for over 9 years (in at
least 7 states); where I met my husband David. We were married
in 1992. David left EDS to go to seminary in 1993. I left EDS in
1997 to follow David to his first call as pastor in New Buffalo,
MI.
We moved to Kalamazoo in 2001 when David
received a call to be the pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Kalamazoo. We enrolled our oldest daughter Amanda in the first
kindergarten class at St. Michael’s Lutheran School. We
currently have all five of our children attending SMLS.
I was an active member of the school board
from the fall of 2003 until Dec. 2007. I started my current
position at SMLS in 2005, when I redesigned the School (stmikeschool.org)
and Childcare (christforkids.org) websites. I continue to update
them weekly during the school year. Through the years I have
added the responsibilities of technology coordinator, network
administrator for the church and school, and computer teacher. I
teach computers skills classes to the fourth grade through
eighth grade classes twice
a week.
In the Spring of 2009 I began a Masters
degree in Educational Technology online through the Concordia
University Wisconson.
My husband regularly leads the children in
chapel service and enjoys helping out at school functions. He is
also a Den Leader in the Cub Scout Pack. We encourage people to
support St. Michael Lutheran School when ever possible.
God’s Blessings,
