I
was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan and was blessed to have
the opportunity to attend Trinity Lutheran Grade School from
Kindergarten through 8th grade. Due to my own
experience, Lutheran Schools are near and dear to me, therefore,
I feel blessed to be a part of this Lutheran School and to serve
here.
After
receiving my undergraduate degree from Michigan Technological
University, I moved to the Kalamazoo area where I have worked as
a public school educator for 25 years. I have taught biology,
chemistry, mathematics and technology education for the
districts of Tecumseh, Galesburg-Augusta and Portage. In
addition, I have taught adult education courses for
Galesburg-Augusta, Parchment, and Comstock.
I officially
retired from the Michigan Public Schools system, in July of
2010, to pursue other interests, wondering where God would lead
me.
He quickly
answered…I am volunteering my time to teach 8th grade
mathematics for St. Michael Lutheran School. In addition, I am
working with pre-service teachers and their mentor teachers as a
Cluster Site Coordinator for Western Michigan University at
three middle schools within the Kalamazoo Public Schools. |
