St. Michael Lutheran School is a state-approved private school,
offering grades Kindergarten through 8th, all taught by certified teachers.
The school prides itself on offering a Christ-centered, strong academic
program. As an example, standardized test score results from Spring
2009 found the 1st graders overall performance well above the 90th
percentile in reading, math science and social studies; with most graduating
Kindergarteners reading proficiently.
How are these excellent scores achieved? It’s a blend of a
Christ-centered environment, smaller class sizes, outstanding
certified teachers, and a strong curriculum. For more detail on our
curriculum follow the links below:
Overall, this is a strong academic program that goes well
beyond what is available to elementary students within
surrounding schools. You may wonder how this can be, given the
high quality public schools in our community. The answer lies
in the smaller class sizes and the Christian values. Teachers
in St. Michael Lutheran School are able to teach more reading
and math, and also include non-traditional subjects such as
history, geography, Spanish, and religion.
Kindergarten will be
offered Monday – Friday 1/2 days morning as
well as Kindergarten Connections,
an extended day learning program. Kindergarten Connections is
curriculum-driven and designed to complement the Kindergarten
program. Current enrollment projections allow for grades 1
through 5 to be taught as single grade classrooms, while in
grades 6 through 8 configurations will vary depending upon
student numbers. All school offerings are taught in our new
facility.
