St. Michael Lutheran School is a state-approved private school,
offering grades Kindergarten through 6th for the Fall of 2007,
all taught by certified teachers. Plans call for adding one
grade per year through the 8th grade.
The school prides itself on offering a strong academic
program. As an example, standardized test score results from
Spring 2006 found the 1st graders overall performance at the
99th percentile in reading, science and social studies; and most
graduating Kindergarteners were reading proficiently.
How are these excellent scores achieved? It’s a blend of a
Christ-centered environment, small class sizes, outstanding
certified teachers, and a strong curriculum. For more detail on our
curriculum follow the links below:
Overall, this is a strong academic program
that goes well beyond what is available to elementary students
within surrounding schools. You may wonder how this can be,
given the quality public schools in our community. The
answer lies in the smaller class sizes and the Christian
values. Teachers in St. Michael Lutheran School are able to
teach more reading and math, and also include non-traditional
subjects such as history, geography, Spanish, and religion.
For the Fall 2007, two sections of
Kindergarten will be offered on two full days (either Monday and
Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday), and ½ day (Friday mornings)
each week. Current enrollment projections allow for grades 1,
2, 3, and 4 to be taught as single grade classrooms, while
grades 5 and 6 will be combined, all learning the same concepts
but at grade level. All school offerings are taught in our new
facility.
