Admission

You do not need to be of the Lutheran faith to attend our programs; we welcome all. Over 70% of our current students are not members of St. Michael Lutheran Church. Part of our mission is to welcome all members of our broader community.  St. Michael Lutheran School and Christ for Kids Childcare Center are open to any family regardless of church affiliation. We do not discriminate on the basis of religion, race, color, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of our admission or educational policies.

Enrollment

Start the Enrollment process by printing and filing out the Enrollment form and the Excel in Giving Enrollment form.

Tuition & Fees

2010-2011 Tuition Rates

Tuition Payments

The Board of Early Childhood Ministries, the governing body for St. Michael Lutheran School and Christ for Kids Childcare, requires tuition payments to be made via a free automatic withdrawal program called Excel in Giving. Submit the Excel in Giving Member Enrollment and Authorization form and a canceled check along with your enrolment  form.

Registration Fee:

Prior to May 1st, a $100 non-refundable registration fee per child is required at the time of enrollment, with a maximum of $200 per family annual fee. If paid after May 1st, the fee is $125 per student/$250 family maximum. Of these amounts, $50 per child ($100 family maximum) can be applied toward 10/11 tuition by completing volunteer hours

Polo Shirt :

All students are required to obtain a St. Michael Lutheran School polo shirt (available from Land’s End or spirit wear vendor), and wear this shirt on Fridays, field trip days and school concerts.

Field Trips & Fees:

Students will be participating in a number of fieldtrips, many of which will be free to the student. However, there are a few places for which there is a charge, and parents will be asked to cover those costs. Once all field trips have been scheduled for the year, a list (including any costs) will be shared with the parents.

Multi-child Discount

A 5% family discount is applied to each child's tuition when two children are enrolled. A 10% family discount is applied to each child's tuition when 3 or more children are enrolled.

Scholarship Assistance

Thanks to many fundraising efforts and the kindness of various individuals, some scholarship funds are available for eligible families. St. Michael uses the services of an outside company (Private School Aide Service) to evaluate scholarship applications (to ensure consistency and privacy).

Every family that seeks any scholarship assistance must complete the application form. Then based upon what the private company determines such families are supposed to be able to pay, as well as what the families themselves indicate they are able to pay, appropriate assistance may be provided (with all families paying at least some portion of their annual tuition costs). Any family who fails to complete such a scholarship assistance form is expected to pay their full tuition.

You can complete the Student Aid Form directly on your computer screen by placing the cursor at the appropriate fields and typing in the information. You can then print the completed document and save it to your computer for your records. Applications must be filled out and returned to the school office no later than June 1, 2010.

Creative Contributions

In an effort to be good stewards and to maximize our giving potential, our members have come up with a variety of creative ways people can help pay their tuition and contribute to St. Michael Lutheran School (SMLS) and Christ for Kids (CFK) Childcare Center.
