You do not need to be of the Lutheran faith to attend our
programs; we welcome all. Over 70% of our current students are
not members of St. Michael Lutheran Church. Part of our mission
is to welcome all members of our broader community. St.
Michael Lutheran School (SMLS) and Christ for Kids Childcare Center are open to any family regardless of
church affiliation. We do not discriminate on the basis of
religion, race, color, or national or ethnic origin in the administration
of our admission or educational policies.

Tuition & Fees
2012-2013 Tuition
Rates
Tuition Payments:
Tuition must be paid
electronically using Excel in Giving. This is a free service
through Church Extension Fund that offers a convenient way to
pay tuition. It also provides an easy no-cost way for our school
to collect tuition and benefit from a consistent income. Your
tuition payments are made via a pre- authorized withdrawal from
your bank account and are deposited into the school’s account.
Submit the Excel in
Giving Member Enrollment and Authorization form and a
canceled check along with your enrollment form.
Registration Fee:
Prior to March 1st, a $100 non-refundable registration fee per child is required at the time of
enrollment, with a maximum of $200 per family annual fee. After March 1st, the fee is $150 per student/$275 family
maximum. Of these amounts, $100 per child ($200 family
maximum) can be applied toward 11/12 tuition by completing
volunteer hours based on a $5 per hour volunteer rate.
Middle School Laptop Program:
In addition to the
weekly tuition, the annual leasing cost for the Middle School
Laptop program (6th – 8th grade) is $430 per year (providing
each student with a computer, insurance, and software.) After 3
years parents may purchase the computer for $1.00. This lease is
not eligible for discounts.
All students are required to obtain a
navy St. Michael
Lutheran School polo shirt (available from Land’s End or
spirit
wear vendor), and wear this shirt on Fridays, field trip days
and school concerts.

Students will be participating in a
number of fieldtrips, many of which will be free to the student.
However, there are a few places for which there is a charge, and
parents will be asked to cover those costs. Once all field trips
have been scheduled for the year, a list (including any costs)
will be shared with the parents.
Family Discount
Family Discount: a 10% tuition discount is applied to the 2nd
child enrolled; a 15% discount is applied to the 3rd
enrolled, and 20% for each additional child enrolled
Thanks to many fundraising efforts and the kindness of
various individuals, some scholarship funds are available for
eligible families. St. Michael
uses the services of an outside company (Private School Aide
Service) to evaluate scholarship applications (to
ensure consistency and privacy).
Every family that seeks any scholarship
assistance must complete the application form. Then based upon
what the private company determines such families are supposed
to be able to pay, as well as what the families themselves
indicate they are able to pay, appropriate assistance may be
provided (with all families paying at least some portion of their annual
tuition costs). Any family who fails to complete such a
scholarship assistance form is expected to pay their full
tuition.
You can complete the
Student Aid Form
directly on your computer screen by placing the cursor at the
appropriate fields and typing in the information. You can then
print the completed document and save it to your computer for
your records. Applications must be filled out and mailed no
later than June 1, 2011 with the correct fee to: Private School
Aid Service, P. O. Box 770728, Lakewood, OH 44107-0034
In an effort to
be good stewards and to maximize our giving potential, our
members have come up with a variety of creative ways people can
help pay their tuition and contribute to St. Michael Lutheran School (SMLS) and Christ for
Kids (CFK) Childcare Center. Click the link above for
