Tuition & Fees
St. Michael Lutheran School is able to offer some tuition assistance to qualifying families in grades Kindergarten through 8. The amount of tuition assistance available varies from year to year because all tuition assistance money is generated annually from many special events as well as generous donations of individuals. We use the services of TADS, a national company which specializes in analyzing financial need. This company reviews applications and supporting financial records and gives recommendations regarding a families ability to pay. The tuition assistance committee tries to honor those recommendations as funds allow.
Here are links to a financial worksheet and the actual TADS application. The worksheet is for applicant use only and helps determine what information is required on the actual application.
Tuition payments for K-8 must be paid electronically using Excel in Giving. This is a free service through Church Extension Fund that offers a convenient way to pay tuition. It also provides an easy no-cost way for our school to collect tuition and benefit from a consistent income. Your tuition payments are made via a pre- authorized withdrawal from your bank account and are deposited into the school’s account. Submit the Excel in Giving Member Enrollment and Authorization form and a canceled check along with your enrollment form.
Prior to March 1st, a $100 non-refundable registration fee per child is required at the time of enrollment, with a maximum of $200 per family annual fee. After March 1st, the fee is $150 per student/$275 family maximum. Of these amounts, $100 per child ($200 family maximum) can be applied toward tuition by completing volunteer hours based on a $5 per hour volunteer rate.
Middle School Technology Program
Google Chromebooks are used by students in the middle school. Chromebooks are to be purchased by parents with a one-time fee of $35 to St. Michael Lutheran School for management software.
All students are required to obtain a navy blue St. Michael Lutheran School polo shirt, and wear this shirt on Fridays, field trip days and school concerts.
Field Trips & Fees
Students will be participating in a number of field trips, many of which will be free to the student. However, there are a few places for which there is a charge, and parents will be asked to cover those costs. Once all field trips have been scheduled for the year, a list (including any costs) will be shared with the parents.
K-8 Family Discount
Family Discount: a 10% tuition discount is applied to the 2nd child enrolled; each consecutive child receives a 10% discount.
In an effort to be good stewards and to maximize our giving potential, our members have come up with a variety of creative ways people can help pay their tuition and contribute to St. Michael Lutheran School (SMLS) and Christ for Kids (CFK) Childcare Center. Click the link above for more details.
