St. Michael Lutheran
School is pleased to offer after school classes designed to
strengthen important academic skills as well as provide
enriching experiences. These affordable classes will help keep
your child’s skills sharp and give them a head start for the
coming school year. Please consider signing your child up
for one or more of these courses in the school office.
During the School Year
Drama Club
There is an after school drama club for second grades and
above. There are two options: Tech Crew, which is open to grades 4-8
and meets Tuesdays beginning October 7th and
Actors which is open to grades 2-5
and will meet Tuesdays beginning December 3rd. Cost for all members
is $15 and includes a T-shirt. Contact Miss. Buchanan or Mrs.
Mohler with questions
The students put on a play each spring.
In 2007 they
performed Peter Pan.
In 2008 they performed Wilbur & the Web.

In 2009, they performed The
Little Mermaid.
Sports
St. Michael participates in the
Kalamazoo Area Small Schools League for sports.
Fall
Girls Volleyball
St. Michael partners with
Reform Heritage Christian to create a girls Volleyball team.
Girls in grades 5-8 can participate. During the season they
practice one a week and have games two days a week.

Girls Basketball
St. Michael partners
with Reform Heritage Christian to create a girls basket ball
team. Girls in grades 5 - 7 can participate.
Boy Scouts
Boys in first through 5th grade are
welcome to participate in Pack 282 which meets Wednesdays

SKI CLUB
Join the SMLS Ski
Club. All students grades K-7 are welcome. Student ski pass
includes 3 free lessons. Sign-ups begin in October. For more

MAD SCIENCE
Lots of Hands on activities related to the theme of the section.
Mad Science meets once a week and is usually taught in 8 week
sections.
Odyssey of the Mind
This international
educational program provides creative problem-solving
opportunities for students grades K-8. Students apply
their creativity to solve problems that range from building
mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of
literary classics.
