I am so thankful to God for leading me to St. Michael’s church and school family! I truly feel that this is the place where He now wants me to continue to pursue my passion for teaching, as well as share the life-changing message of Jesus and His love, as I teach children every day!
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University and a Master’s Degree in Reading from Kent State University. Prior to moving to Michigan last June for my husband’s job, I taught 4th grade for 17 years at Munroe Elementary School in Tallmadge, OH. Before that I worked with first through third graders as a language arts tutor, also in Tallmadge. In addition, I taught preschool (in a Lutheran school) and 2nd grade in Illinois before moving to Ohio and staying home to raise my own children. I was a substitute teacher at St. Michael this past school year and was Mrs. Worm’s long-term substitute during her maternity leave. I absolutely loved working in a Christian school again and am so thrilled to now be teaching third grade here!!! My husband and I live in Kalamazoo and have been married 29 years. I love to read, exercise, craft, travel and spend time with our two grown children, Sarah and Alex.
I feel so blessed to be a teacher at St. Michael and serve God and his children in this way. I look forward to seeing God’s continued work in my life and the life of my students!
