The Science Olympiad is both a National and Regional competition, and is highly esteemed. It is an opportunity for students to grow in their knowledge and experience with science. Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of different events in which students demonstrate their knowledge of a variety of scientific processes and concepts. Team work is required in many scientific careers and in the career world as a whole, and Science Olympiad helps foster team work skills. St. Michael wants to get our students involved in this great opportunity to enhance their science education. SMLS started participating in Science Olympiad in 2010 in Region 10. Ms. Emily Manack is the coach. Region 10 Science Olympiad Competition takes place in March at Western Michigan University.
